I've always enjoyed the immediacy of maquette making, the fluidity and easy to read sketches made prior to a work.

Having worked with the process of stone carving for a week, I'm interested in exploring the contrast of immediate mark making with more considered, carved forms. Understanding how they read differently, together and can lend themselves to abstract and representational sculpture.
