Fabric studies

Yukata fabric studies in order to translate into sculpture.

I find sculpting the weight and flow of fabric a challenge, taking a different kind of patience, compared to expressions and physical details. When realised, it can make a figure all the more convincing.

Italian memorial sculpture is fascinating for this, studying these in Genoa during my MA, I was captivated by the intricate delicate carving of thread and textile.
