Streatham Pat

Low relief ceramic and transfer.
28 x 2 x 35cm
Boyce Da Roca on the high street serve great Turkish eggs, mint and ruby-red pomegranate dropped into thick yoghurt.
You can get a three-shot americano served up in a soup bowl and the milk comes in these animal head jugs.
Streatham Pat takes a penny to her scratchcard, nattering with two helpers, I don’t know maybe they’re her grandkids. They call her gangster granny and she tells them to piss off.
I guess she must have seen this whole neighborhood grow up and coalesce into something which for all its glitz and chia seeds, seems all the more diluted.
She sits there like some old mossy god whose eyes swim over time. Something rare and reliable in all the noise and traffic.
