My journey into figure making began during my BA course, evolving from the small figures I used to create as a child. Over time, both my technique and artistic approach developed, leading to more refined and expressive pieces.
In the early stages, I worked primarily with Raku-fired ceramics combined with mixed-metal elements. These early works, while experimental, laid the foundation for my later works. As my practice progressed, I gained access to high-temperature firing, allowing for greater durability and more nuanced glaze finishes. This shift marked a significant turning point in the quality and resilience of my work.
This gallery showcases a selection of pieces that trace that development, alongside highlights from some of the exciting collaborative projects I’ve been fortunate to take part in.
